DXing Radio Contest March 27-29
On Friday, March 27 at 8pm, the public is invited to join us as HacDC Amateur Radio Club (HARC) participates in the CQ WPX (Worked All Prefixes) Contest, where we attempt to contact as many stations as possible, with as many different call sign prefixes as possible over 48 hours. We hope to contact 1000+ stations from 100+ countries during this major contest event which ends Sunday, March 29 at 8pm. Join us at meetup.com.
The contest’s objective is to expand knowledge of radio propagation on (HF) bands, improve operating skills, and improve station capability. Read more on HARC’s site or at contest sponsor CQ Magazine. Visit https://www.cqwpx.com/ for rules, etc.
*DXing [from DX, the telegraphic shorthand for “distance”] is the hobby of receiving and identifying distant radio or television signals, or making two way radio contact with distant stations in amateur radio, citizens’ band radio or other two way radio communications. — (Wikipedia)
