FAQ

Q: What kind of projects do you work on?

A: Does it involve technology? Art? Science? Helping others? Educating others? Then, Yes! Our members have a wide, wide range of interests, so we work on all sorts of stuff at HacDC.

Q: Is HacDC open 24 hours a day?

A: In short, yes!  We work on projects around the clock but that doesn’t mean that there is someone there 24 hours-a-day. Members have 24 hour access to the space. If you’re not a member, our event calendar lists our scheduled classes and workshop times when you’re sure to find someone at the space to let you in. All of our events are free and open to the public, so stop by! If you stop by unannounced and want to find out if someone is in the space to let you in and show you around, call us at 202-556-HACK (4225).

Q: What made you want to do it in the first place?

A: (This is a true story, BTW).  One of our founders happened upon the C-Base one cold night in Berlin, Germany.  It was the most incredible place he had ever seen.  He decided that he wanted to build a place where people could work on their projects, have a good time and get others involved in art, technology and service.  Somehow, this founder sold a bunch of other people on his idea and it’s been good times and great tech ever since.

Q: Is HacDC on Twitter?

Yes. You can follow @hacdc and get up-to-the-minute updates about HacDC. You can also follow @hacdcdoorman to find out when the HacDC space is occupied. Also if you want to follow what happens in the HacDC space, you can follow @insidehacdc
