This is a reminder about the Byzantium Sprint happening this weekend. We are planning on doing livedistro work including coding and packaging and testing of software. We are meeting at the space on Friday at 8pm for more detailed planning. There will be pizza. We are planning on starting at noon on both Saturday and Sunday. If you have especially new and/or common hardware capable of connecting to an adhoc wifi network please feel free to bring it in on Saturday or Sunday afternoons and we’ll see if anything in the livedistro breaks 🙂
This is a reminder that we will be meeting at HacDC on Friday the 24th of June at 8:00pm for pizza and last minute planning for Byzantium sprint 5. Saturday the 25th at noon we will be doing either intermesh connection testing or gathering metrics on our mesh network depending on how many people show up, and on Sunday at noon we will be continuing the same project we started on Saturday.
We will be meeting this Friday at 8pm to figure out whether we will be doing long haul link testing or general mesh metrics testing based on how many people show up. Then we will be running whatever tests we decide we are doing starting on Saturday at noon and wrapping up for Saturday by about 9pm. Sunday we will be meeting at noon to continue testing and we’ll wrap up for the weekend by about 9pm.
We got a big mention on an article on Fast Company a business news magazine and blog. The article is about how hackerspaces are doing good things for the world. They feature the Tokyo hackerspace’s endeavour to help keep people safe after the earthquake and nuclear meltdown along with our Project Byzantium which aims to provide network connectivity in the event the traditional infrastructure goes down.
