Wow! Lots of responses to Parts Party announcement!

We’ve received a lot of great questions and responses to our Parts Party announcement!  Since we announced it with such short notice, please dont’ hesitate to e-mail email hidden; JavaScript is required with any questions you have.  (Actually, never hesitate to contact us, we love to hear from you!)

Many of you have asked if we will take old electronics, CRTs, etc.  Yes!  We will!  We will take almost anything we can carry up the stairs.  (Be forewarned, we don’t have an elevator and it’s two flights of stairs up to our space.  We will have able bodied people on hand to carry things up, but things that weigh more than 100 KG/220 lbs. might be a bit of a stretch even for us!)  To you, it might be junk, but to us it’s raw materials we can use to start working on our projects!

However, we really, really need tools and equipment that we can use to test, repair and disassemble the things you’re bringing us.  If you have spare:

  • Electronic test/repair and disassembly equipment (multimeter, probe, signal tracer, soldering irons…that old oscilloscope that really needs a new home *hint* *hint*, etc.)
  • Hand tools (Files, Screwdrivers, Pliers, ratchet wrenches, etc.)
  • Power tools (drills, dremel tools, saws, etc.)
  • Other random equipment, working or non-working (microscopes, enlargers, centrifuges, etc.)

We will also have food and beverages available, but we always welcome more!

Most importantly, even if you don’t have anything, stop by to meet us!  We’re building this space for our community.  Those who get involved determine where the space will go.  We organized this space to be member-driven

We’re looking forward to seeing you on Sunday!  If you can’t make it, but want to get involved, let us know!
